Varios reportajes oficiales anunciaron el lanzamiento de un nuevo canal de la televisión estatal en Cuba. La programación de este se estructuró mediante la captura directa y sin derechos de transmisiones de cadenas internacionales como HBO, Starz, TNT, NBC, Discovery Channel y Animal Planet, funcionando como una contrapartida mediática y gubernamental frente al mercado clandestino de "la antena parabólica" que operaba de forma ilegal en diversas ciudades del país.
En colaboración con una periodista, compilamos estos materiales transmitidos y redactamos un nuevo guion televisivo para reeditar las imágenes oficiales e intercalarlas con fragmentos de programas de canales prohibidos, dando lugar a un nuevo reportaje de investigación. La realidad se impone cuestiona el fenómeno de la piratería amparada por los medios de comunicación oficiales. En la pieza, tanto el canal del Estado (Multivisión) como la red clandestina particular (La antena), entremezclados, aparecen situados en el mismo nivel de infracción jurídica, demostrando que ambas estructuras se sustentan exactamente sobre el mismo principio: la piratería.

Several official news reports announced the launch of a new state television channel in Cuba. Its programming was structured through the direct capture, without broadcasting rights, of international networks such as HBO, Starz, TNT, NBC, Discovery Channel, and Animal Planet, operating as a governmental and media countermeasure against the underground market of "the satellite dish" that ran illegally across various cities in the country.
In collaboration with a journalist, we compiled these broadcast materials and drafted a new television script to re-edit the official footage and interlace it with fragments from prohibited networks, giving rise to a new investigative report. La realidad se impone (Reality Imposes Itself) questions the phenomenon of piracy state-sanctioned by official mass media. In the piece, both the state channel (Multivisión) and the private clandestine network (La antena), interspersed, appear on the same level of legal infraction, demonstrating that both structures are sustained by the exact same principle: piracy.
