El video-reportaje Actualidad nocturna parte de la premisa de que el periodismo televisivo en Cuba solo visibiliza una realidad constreñida a los horarios laborales y productivos de la sociedad, anulando la dimensión del ciudadano más allá de su condición como fuerza de trabajo. La pieza se articula como una simulación audiovisual —un reportaje real infiltrado en los códigos del noticiero oficial— para cuestionar la progresiva extinción de la vida nocturna y los espacios de esparcimiento en La Habana. A través de una polifonía de testimonios donde se confrontan diversos sujetos sociales, la obra saca a la luz las tensiones económicas, las prohibiciones masivas y la censura institucional que impiden el disfrute del tiempo libre, proponiendo una estructura periodística disidente que subvierte el monólogo informativo del Estado.

The video-reportage Actualidad nocturna (Evening Current Affairs) begins with the premise that television journalism in Cuba only makes visible a reality constrained within the working and productive hours of society, nullifying the dimension of the citizen beyond their condition as a labor force. The piece is articulated as an audiovisual simulation—a real investigative report infiltrated into the visual codes of the official state newscast—to call into question the progressive extinction of nightlife and spaces for recreation in Havana. Through a polyphony of testimonies that confront diverse social subjects, the work uncovers the economic tensions, systemic prohibitions, and institutional censorship that prevent the enjoyment of free time, proposing a dissident journalistic structure that subverts the State's information monologue.
